The Housefly and the Spider

This isn't any fancy title for some STORY.
Its just that...today i witnessed with my own eyes a battle between the prey and the hunter.

Prey: - HouseFly
Size: - Medium

Hunter: - Spider
Size: - Medium (less than house fly)

What happened: -
I was closing curtains close to the window, and suddenly i heard this strong sound
of Buzzzzing ...a typical sound u hear when flies are on the glass window.
I tried following the sound on the window pain to locate the fly.

To my surprise i saw something black, grey colored ...of more than usual size something flying around and banging against the glass window.

I went closer to that object to have a look at what that weird thing was.

... and lo!.... it was a housefly struggling to get freed from the clutches of the
scary appendages of the spider. The house fly was larger than the size of the spider.

The spider had caught it from behind. It won't just let go off the fly. I hesistated several times to separate the fly from the spider....but something held me back...and that was the thought of "GOING AGAINST THE NATURE" .

The fly was meant to be hunted and the spider was meant to have its prey...so who was i to interfere? ... i let my self from intervening in that battle. i was like the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC camera man...watching all that, minus my camera.

...psst...i did try using my mobile camera .... but mobile cam could not get the grimm details of that battle.

The fly struggled for 1 full minute ..... its wings were waving @ a speed more than usual probably.... but spider was determined and it just did not let go off that fly.

The spider was in hanging state with its spidy thread, and had clasped the fly from behind so firm...it looked as if the fly was born with that spider @ its back. The spider wouldn't just budge.

In this entire one minute, the spider did not make n e movements. Its grip was firm like ...like...i don't have the word.

After another 30 secs,....the buzzzing sound stopped. The wings came to a halt. I thought, the fly was DEAD now. I waited for few more seconds. Both were still...as if nothing happened. Then Spider made its first move after this battle, it tried to get a firmer grip by extending one of its appendage towards the back of the fly.

I was quizzed...was the fly really dead??? .... i blowed air on them ...suddenly the fly moved with its appendages, but its wings were @ stand still. With the blow of the air, the fly moved with its appendages and dragged the spider with it.

I wasn't sure if the fly moved....so, i took a stick a touched the fly ...no movement...then i touched the spider, and the spider moved along ...this time dragging the fly.

The fly was DEAD for sure now. The spider's determination finally paid off. It must be devouring its weekend non-veg dinner.
